Second corner gluing tests

Goal: find a shape and gluing technique that consistently results in the
glue to filling in all the space under the cap without gaps for water
pressure to get into. At the same time, it need to avoid oozing glue
into the plumbing tube. as the corner is fit on.

Test Summary:

  • 0.015 recess X 30 degree bevel - gaps at the top and near the top corner on the sides, but only under the area that was not recessed. Some oozing into the plumbing channel. Nice fill in recessed areas and around the perimeter.
  • .030 recess X 30 Degree bevel - Nice fill in recessed areas and around the perimeter. Some gaps on both sides under non-recessed areas.
  • .015 X 45 degree bevel - fairly large bubbles in top
  • .015 recess X 2.5 degree taper - Very nice looking second time, but the first try we got glue in the tube. Second try was with less glue applied near the plumbing entrance.
  • .030 X 5 degree taper - Almost perfect with only minor little flaws
Moving forward the next experiments will be making longer tapers and making a bottom corner that you fit the tube right into like the top one we did.
