We spent much of wednesday working on an idea to help make the plant beds out of individual, liftable sized tubs of water or soil. It would be convenient to leave the tubs unmodified and leak proof by connecting them via siphon. These siphons would need to be actively maintained, though. While we are still not sure if that makes sense int eh bigger picture, we are more confident that it is doable for about $10 in hardware store parts.
